An idea that started in the mind of band leader Nelson Muhire first took form in November 2005 as a group of friends that shared a passion to worship in song started a small singing group. The group has since grown in size and ambition, with the desire to share its talents with the world, in worship.

H.O.P Band (House of Prayer) is all about sharing God’s Love through music, arts, prayer and fellowship, and has had the opportunity to express this at  schools, churches, universities and other events around Uganda. Though the group sung a lot of covers in the beginning, it very quickly grew into one that wrote songs inspired by happenings that individuals or the group as a whole had experienced.

In May 2008, the band released its first two singles, “You Are Special” and “A Heart That’s yours” – exposing the group to a larger community of radio listeners. The success of these two songs encouraged the band to complete the Album, To Our King, which was released June 28th 2009.

Above all, H.O.P Band Is about sharing moments of worship and witnessing God’s extravagant Love.
